TOUR OVERVIEW

Environmentally conscious design & operation in a world class setting make for a thrilling and unique canopy tour.  TreeTops is located minutes from the rim of the New River Gorge,  with ten zip lines and five skybridges.

We have been blessed with natural structures for our Canopy Tour creating a spiraling Zip Line Canopy Tour Course. You will be just as impressed with the quiet splendor of the views from the tree tops are you are with the thrill of the quiet magical zip lines and skybridges.

TreeTops Canopy tour course is integrated into the natural surroundings of our Mill Creek campus.The course creation included thorough site selection and surveying, environmental ground work and creating access points with minimal branch and brush removal. We focused on keeping nature unscathed and use West Virginia’s natural beauty and complexity to create the course.

Look for information coming soon about our efforts to establish our Mill Creek forest course area as a research station for natural biological control of the woolly adelphid pest that is threatening U.S. hemlock forests

My 65 year old mother and I went out to zip the Treetops Canopy Tour last week. She loved it!!

The harnesses are one piece, chest and seatThe ground school is just a short hike from check-in. . The first zip is right next to ground school. There are ten zips, plus five sky bridges, and one rappell at the end. Some of the bridges have a little bit of an incline to them, so they are a little bit challenging to walk across at the other end. There is a hike in the middle up to the second part of the course which launches off of a slanted rock. I think it was the highest platform which had boards that the guides could pull up, so you can see the creek below, but also could stand on the steel support beams if you wished. After the rappell at the end, a bus picks you up and drives you back to base camp.

At base camp you can see the photos they took at one of the last zips. They take one group photo, one of you on the ground, and one while you are zipping. Overall, a great zip!!
